If you are wondering how often should you workout at 50 we should say that this training is based on the idea that you should do intense training for a group of muscles 2 -3 times per week while on the other days you rest. The point is that you do 5 different exercises per week. For example, you can choose to do exercises with a barbell. In this case, you will do for three days in row 5 different exercises involving barbells – barbell squats, barbell bench press, barbell deadlift, etc. Each of these days you need to make 5 sets of 5 reps for each of the exercises you choose for the day.

It’s never too late to start working out, right💪? My friend encouraged me to try 5 by 5 training when I was 52, now I’m in my mid-sixties and we still go to the gym together! Thanks to a consistent training and proper diet, I feel a lot more alive and active, so I intend to keep living that way for many more years.

When I was 33 I was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was terrified but decided to do everything to battle it and return to normal life. I was divorced but had a little son, so I just had to live. Plus, I was on chemo for almost a year. During that time I started meditating and performing light exercises. Of course, side effects often made exercising tough, but I tried to be as active as I could. Well, now I’m 60, and fitness still plays an important role in my life. I do 5 x 5 training and hope to do it for many more years!

    I love my after-50 workouts!
I try to do training in the morning and it gives me an energy kick for the entire day! In fact, there are so many benefits for older adults to take up exercise.
So, here’s my recommendation to folks who hesitate or think that they’re too old for that sort of activity - puhs those thoughts out of your mind! Just give it a shot!
AND ---You’ll be surprised at the results!
